I can remember having a conversation when I was about 10 years old with Creator. I had my little book out and had big questions to ask. I had a relative that passed away and to see my mom in grief, made me very sad. So I asked Creator, "Why do people have diseases?"
From my little mind and what I could make of it as a small child, I heard the response, "Food."
"Well if my family member was told not to eat certain foods...why would he do it?"
"Because we have freewill."
I had so many questions to ask Creator and I ended up diving deep into learning about our food system, how pesticides are used and loved it so much that by the time I was in middle school, I felt the right decision for my body was to become vegetarian. So I didn't consume meat all throughout high school and until I was pregnant at age 22. This started my love/hate relationship with understanding the American Food Industry.
The simple truth is food either FUELS your energy and health or contributes to the downfall of wellbeing.
We have mass production of "food" in order to keep up with convenience and feed large amounts of community, but our practices are not sustaining our health.
Our modern lifestyle is the ROOT of autoimmune problems. A food choice seems to simple but it can lead to leaky gut, diabetes, heart disease and so much more. It's that easy and it's not.
"What is one persons solution is another person's poison." It means we all are unique and not one size fits all. In order to heal, you must find out what your food sensitivities. They will be different for everyone.
Having been diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, there are many "diets" that have helped people with this autoimmune disease. The popular Wahl's Diet, the Best Bet Diet, The Candida diet by Ann Boroach, all have helped people reverse this disease. And my point is that it's unique to each individual.
SO WHAT CAN YOU DO TO PUT YOURSELF ON THE PATH OF WELLNESS FROM A NUTRITIONAL PERSPECTIVE:
There are many things that you can do.
- Learn about the food industry: how processed foods, sugar, gluten, casin, diary, unhealthy fats and oils make a big impact on your wellness.
- Look into pesticides and organic practices.
- Make yourself an experiment and find out what works for you
I do like the option of a Functional Medicine doctor running tests to see your sensitivities but the best way to go is going on an Elimination Diet and keeping a journal. You will see the effects of how each food impacts your wellbeing.
If you are experiencing:
- Extreme or chronic fatigue
- Your body aches and feels sore
- Brain Fog
- Hair loss (lack of nutrients)
- Digestive problems
- Can't sleep at night
- Extreme moods
You will want to look at your DIET.

No matter what your body is experiencing, you can make the choice now to consume food choices that support your wellness or choose food that doesn't. But the thing is, it's a choice. One small step will become a habit and eventually a lifestyle.
